DIY Dine Out: Sunny Reveals the Nation’s Dining Habits

Have you ever wondered about the UK’s dining habits?

How much do us Brits spend on eating out. What do we spend it on, where do we spend it and what is our favourite cuisine? I had a few guesses myself but after seeing this infographic from Sunny, I was quite surprised by some of the stats.

People are dining out on average at least 3 times a month and spending an average of £695.76. I think that was probably my biggest surprise. I don’t know why, but I expected that figure to be a lot larger. Though with 90% of people “struggling to always stick to a budget“, those figures start to make a little more sense. I also loved finding out that our top cuisine in the UK is Italian, followed by an equal split of Indian (my favourite) and Chinese.

Check out the infographic below, you might be quite surprised by some of the facts because I certainly was:

It seems Brits are doing their best to make 2019 their healthiest year yet and I couldn’t agree more because I’m already following that promise, eating less takeaways and choosing healthier choices in restaurants. I may not have joined the gym quite yet, but starting my year healthier when it comes to food is still a great start which will most certainly begin to change the type of foods we see on our plates. But, according to the above – a huge 59% of people break from their healthy eating resolutions.

What’s your favourite cuisine and are you eating healthier for 2019?

I’d love to know in the comments below!
