Mayfair: London’s Luxury Hangout

For a luxurious London location, Mayfair has it all. Opulent hotels, chic bars and exquisite eateries are all on offer at this high-end part of the capital.

Whether you’re visiting for the day or you’re lucky enough to be able to stay here, you’ll find there’s a selection of must-visits on offer while you’re in the area. If you’re seeking some inspiration before you arrive, here’s a guide to what’s on offer in London’s most expensive spot

Fine Dining

When it comes to food, Mayfair has some of the most prestigious dining options available in the capital. From two-Michelin-starred The Square, with its French cuisine and legendary status, to the selection available at Claridge’s such as Fera, there’s something to suit an array of palates.

Fish lovers can head to Scott’s, while Nobu Berkeley Street serves up decadent sushi dishes in surroundings designed by well-known interior designer, David Collins, who also designed interiors for Jimmy Choo.

Tranquil Days

As well as some of the big names, such as Selfridges, there are plenty of boutiques and shops to explore. Head to the Burlington Arcade for jewellery shopping or Mount Street to see the latest fashion trends.

Once you’re shopped out, you can head to the Saatchi Gallery or The Royal Academy to take in some art. Alternatively, you can find a serene spot on a bench in Brown Hart Gardens and watch the world go by.

Vibrant Nights

Should you want to head to the bars once the sun sets, there are plenty on offer in Mayfair. Sketch is a go-to for those who seek something special with their glass of wine as this space includes art and music, as well as food and drink. If you love classic drinks, head to The Fumoir at Claridge’s or take in the view at Galvin at Windows.

Rest Your Head

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation in Mayfair. As well as Claridge’s, there’s The Dorchester, which offers a spa and delicious lunches at The Grill Room; The Beaumont, which is packed with Art Deco touches; and Brown’s Hotel, which dates back to 1837 and was London’s first hotel.

If you prefer a decadent home from home experience, Urban Retreat Apartments are beautifully designed. They are ideally located within easy reach of Oxford Street and Bond Street and Selfridges is right on the doorstep.

Wherever you visit during your Mayfair stay, you’re sure to find something special in this chic corner of the capital.
