A Relaxing Afternoon at The Peak Health Club & Spa, Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Knightsbridge

Health Club Jumeirah

If you’ve not heard of the The Peak Health Club & Spa before, then you’re certainly missing out. The club, located inside the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel is one of London’s premier health and beauty centres with stunning views of London. We recently returned from a rather fabulous stay at the hotel and one sunny afternoon we spent a couple of hours divulging in everything it had to offer. This is food and fitness at its finest.

Health Club Jumeirah Carlton Tower

Located on the ninth floor of Jumeirah Carlton Tower, this luxury spa is open to both members and guests of Jumeirah’s London hotels. Access for members is available by the panoramic lift at the front of Jumeirah Carlton Tower, or from one of the internal hotel lifts. As soon as you enter the club you step into an area known as The Club Room. A magnificent room full of light and an army of staff ready to make your day even brighter.

It’s also home to some of the best views over London. Whether you’re enjoying a light bite, glass of wine or work-out in the gym area – the view will never be dull.

The first point of call will of course be the swimming pool area. The pool itself and the jacuzzi which is located just above are lovely. This area could perhaps do with a little updating and if lane swimming isn’t quite your thing then that jacuzzi will suit you very well indeed. Not to mention the wonderful range of treatments, ranging from a gentle head massage to a nourishing and rejuvenating body wrap. After, head inside to the gym area and work up a sweat & appetite before heading back to The Club Room.

The Club Room offers the perfect place to stop off for a relaxing drink or healthy snack pre/post work out and I really fell in love with the place. A selection of food and drinks is available throughout the day, including a healthy lunch buffet which is served from 12pm to 3pm daily and I can confirm – it’s rather delicious.

Little pots of tempting beetroot and goats cheese, grilled vegetables, black quinoa with and spinach & chickpea salad. All of which were so fresh and packed with flavour. My favourites were the sesame marinated chicken and miso salmon. Both oh-so succulent and dare I say it once again, packed with flavour. Definitely one of the most refined buffet options I’ve had over the years.

The only way to finish this buffet offering is with a good helping from the cheese and bread table. Everything was of quality, staff actively confirming you really can eat as much cheese (and anything else) as you liked and it was all delicious. I especially loved the home-baked breads and that crumbly blue cheese. Don’t forget to help yourself to a bowl of the fresh fruit salad, if you have room.

We had such a relaxing afternoon here at The Peak Health Club & Spa and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing day spa experience or those wanting to commit to a few months or annual membership. Delicious food, excellent amenities and pure-relaxation. This is a place to sooth the soul and I can’t wait to return.
