Getting Festive with Harrods Hampers: An Early Christmas Surprise

Christmas is my favourite time of year. In fact I become a little bit obsessed when it comes to Winter, an excuse for twinkling lights and warm cosy decorations – it’s all far too exciting for me. Shopping for Winter jackets and new accessories, adding the occasional new decoration to my Christmas tree, lighting every mulled wine scented candle in my property and then of course – there’s the presents. One of which was a very early surprise from Harrods in the form of a rather impressive hamper.

The day the hamper arrived, I couldn’t resist the temptation to put up my Christmas tree – if not a little early. We invited some friends over for a glass of wine while decorating the tree together and putting The Grosvenor hamper into place.

Priced at £175 this hamper has just about everything you need to get your Christmas festivities started. From Christmas pudding and Winter spiced chocolate almonds, to dark chocolate coated biscuits and spiced black tea to wash it all down with.

My favourite part of all was the box of 6 classic mince pies with a good glug of brandy flavour to them. I’ve already eaten my fair share of mince pies this year but these were lovely. The filling was much thicker and less syrupy to others – plus the filling packed out every edge of its buttery pastry outer.

Spiced coffee, Christmas mustard, mulled berry jam and the pièce de résistance – twelve month marinated Christmas pudding. I can’t wait to tuck all of these goodies around the table over Christmas with my family.

And then there was the fudge. Rich, buttery and oh-so crumbly. As soon as you pop the lid the whole room begins to smell of fragranced clementine and sweet dried cranberries. I don’t image this lasting very long in the Berry household.

Hiding at the bottom of the gorgeous wooden hamper was the 2017 Harrods Christmas bear, Bertie. He’s now going to be finding a permanent home with my soon to arrive baby niece because a Harrods bear isn’t just for Christmas – they’re for life.

This is my first time owning a Harrods hamper and I can whole heartedly recommend them to anyone looking for that extra special gift for someone. Not only are the products delicious and beautiful presented, but after eating everything inside this Luxury Christmas Hamper – you’re left with an iconic teddy bear and a wicker trunk for storing which looks great in just about any room.

NB: My hamper was complimentary. All views are as always, my own. My views are not influenced by anyone other than my own palate and slightly poor eyesight.
